The City of Brampton has announced it will be offering a virtual camp experience for children ages six to 10.

Participants will interact with a trained City of Brampton Camp Leader and other campers live using the WebEx Platform.

The program runs from Monday to Friday in two time slots—mornings from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and afternoons from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Camps will be broken into two streams:

  • Brain Box Camp: examples of activities include superhero cape making, rainforest in a jar, and a thunder science experiment
  • Arts and Crafts Camp: examples of activities include making seashell magnets, creating underwater picture frames, and participating in a STEM shark activity

Additionally, campers will have the opportunity to:

  • Increase confidence by socially interacting with peers who they may not know;
  • Build friendship and connections online in a safe and structured environment;
  • Get comfortable in a new setting they may have never experienced before;
  • Work at their own pace.

In order to participate, campers will require access to a computer, laptop, large tablet or other device that is large enough to view and follow along with the instructor’s lesson; a microphone as well as headphones/earbuds to participate in the activities and communicate with their instructor; a functional webcam or built-in camera; and a reliable internet connection.

Those with a City of Brampton Recreation account can register online using their Recreation Family PIN, while those without an account can register by calling 311.
