Brampton’s food scene is mighty, and it’s about to celebrate one of its newest additions.

Celebrity chef Ranveer Brar opened Mayura, his first restaurant in Canada, in Brampton with a soft launch back in March. Now, the restaurant is having a celebration for its grand opening tonight from 5-9 p.m.

“I am excited to be back in Brampton,” said Brar. “I was here for the soft launch in March and now that I am back I can see the growing number of people who are enjoying Mayura’s authentic Indian fine dining concept. Mayura, like all my other restaurants, takes into consideration the unique culture and surroundings of the location. It’s been so much fun creating and testing unique recipes to build a menu that puts a local flavour on authentic Indian cuisine.”

Brar, who is actually India’s youngest executive chef, has already opened over 20 restaurants worldwide, including the well-known Banq Restaurant in Boston. Since Brar has more than earned his stripes in kitchens around the world, it’s exciting to see him set up shop in a diverse GTA city with an evolving restaurant scene.

Mayura boasts fresh ingredients from local farms and Canadian wine from local wineries.

Beyond being a prolific chef, Brar hosts multiple Indian TV shows, including Breakfast Xpress, Snack Attack, Homemade, The Great Indian Rasoi, Health Bhi Taste Bhi, Ranveer’s Cafe, Food Tripping and Thank God It’s Fryday.

“Mayura by Chef Ranveer Brar will celebrate it’s grand opening with a red-carpet welcome for all invitees,” says Bhupinder Sidhu, one of Brar’s Canadian partners. “There will be a Cocktail Flying buffet concept dinner in the restaurant along with live entertainment and white glove service for the VIP guests.

It’s sure to be a grand affair.

Brar himself, Mayor Linda Jeffrey, Members of Brampton Council, Brampton area Members of Parliament, and Members of Provincial Parliament will be in attendance.

The restaurant is open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Reservations are not required, but calling ahead or booking online is recommended.
