Police say they stopped a driver in Brampton for going over double the speed limit on Friday evening (January 15).

“Brampton’s road conditions were not the best last night so when Cst. Purdy clocked this 22 year old male going 131 km/hr in a 60 km/hr zone it came as a shock,” police said.

He reportedly told police he was in a hurry to pick up his girlfriend.

The driver was charged accordingly and had his vehicle impounded.

“Thank you Brampton Transit for getting him the rest of the way,” said police.
