Brampton’s own Haviah Mighty and indie rock band Tokyo Police Club will headline a virtual New Year’s Eve concert from the Rose Theatre.

The 2019 Polaris Music Prize Winner for Canada’s best album, 13th Floor, Haviah Mighty is making a splash internationally with her blend of honest introspection and compelling hip-hop rhymes that has served as wake-up call to other emerging Canadian artists to push beyond local boundaries.

He latest single, Occasion, is already receiving critical acclaim with calls for her being one of the break-out musical stars of 2021.

Also headlining the December 31 show is multiple JUNO Award nominated bank Tokyo Police Club, a mainstay on the Canadian alternative music scene for several years.

This year’s virtual show will begin at 8 pm with messages from local politicians and a pre-recorded performance by cover band Solar.

The online event can be viewed here on December 31.
