Are you gearing up for Grammys season?

The 60th Grammy Awards are happening in New York on Sunday, January 28, 2018, and Brampton’s Alessia Cara is nominated for a whopping four awards, her first Grammy nominations ever.

Not only that, the pop star is set to perform her hit 1-800-273-8255 alongside Khalid and Logic for the event, with a group of suicide attempt and loss survivors selected by the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in a special performance delivering an important message, according to the 60th Grammy Awards website.

The inspirational track is indeed nominated for song of the year and best music video.

Those are just two of Cara’s nominations.

She’s also nominated for best pop duo/group performance for Stay with Zedd, and best new artist!

Cara hasn’t stopped topping the charts since she released her breakthrough single almost two years ago in 2016, “Here”, which hit No. 5 on the Billboard Top 100. Since then, she has had two more top 10 hits, “Stay” (No. 7) and “Scars To Your Beautiful” (No. 8).

Cara launched her career in music when she was 13, singing covers of Amy Winehouse, Sam Smith, and Beyonce on her YouTube channel.

Other big names who will take the stage at this year’s Grammys are talents such as Childish Gambino, Lady Gaga, and Pink.
