After a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Brampton staff have now resumed enforcement for overnight parking.
The Enforcement Section operates out of the City of Brampton Enforcement and By-Law Services Division, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
At this time, enforcement in Brampton addresses approximately 8,000 calls a year from the public and with the City’s increasing population, this number is expected to climb even higher.
Under the Traffic and Parking by-law, residents are reminded that vehicles cannot be parked on the street between 2:00 and 6:00 am and for more than three hours at a time.
Parking by-law signs are posted on every roadway entering the City of Brampton and these bylaws are City-wide, unless posted otherwise.
They also identify the City of Brampton parking rules.
Currently, Brampton does not offer permit parking on City streets, but it does however give parking Considerations to allow residents to park on the street up to 14 days per calendar year per license plate for the above two violations only.
Considerations for any other parking violations will not be given.
Residents are reminded that a Parking Consideration will not prevent you from getting a ticket if your parked vehicle impedes snow clearing or road maintenance operations.

Enforcement Officers also provide “Special Attention Patrols” for neighbourhood concerns such as blocked sidewalks, downtown rush hour patrols to improve traffic flow, school patrols to heighten safety awareness during peak drop off and pick up times and ideas for programs to improve the safety of students at schools.
Additionally, the provide the “Accessible Parking Spot Designation on Private Property” program, the “Fire Route/Accessible Parking” initiative and the “Parking Enforcement Certification” program for private security agencies.
