Helena Gomes from Brampton has just won $500,000 with Instant $500,000 Classic Extravaganza.

According to OLG, Gomes, a 60-year old married factory worker, discovered her win at home when she scanned her ticket using the OLG Lottery App.

“I got nervous. My hands were shaking and my palms were sweating,” she told OLG. “I had to call my husband to check, just in case I was seeing things.”

The mother and grandmother is planning to use her winnings to do some home renovations as well as share some with her kids, according to OLG.

“I can’t believe this. I’m happy, very happy,” she concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Dixon Milk on Dixon Road in Etobicoke.

Zahid Nabbie of Brampton is also celebrating after winning the Guaranteed $1 Million Prize in the May 6, 2020, LOTTO 6/49 draw.

According to OLG, Nabbie, a 53-year old wood finisher, discovered his win while at home when he used the OLG Lottery App to check his ticket.

“I ran upstairs to tell my wife that we won a million dollars,” he told OLG. “She didn’t believe me because of all the times I’ve joked about it! I showed her the Big Winner message on the app and then I had to validate the ticket at the store before she would believe me!”

Nabbie plans to pay his bills and his mortgage and will enjoy being debt-free, according to OLG.

“It feels good. It still feels like it might not be real. It’s going to feel amazing to see that bank balance once the cheque clears,” he concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Ken Steeles Convenience on Steeles Avenue in Brampton.
