A Brampton resident will be launching the first South Asian wedding planner app soon.

Kavita Kapil, founder and owner of Dezeynne Studio and now Bride + Groomed, will be launching the app this September.
The tool aims to help simplify the wedding process and connect couples to wedding vendors.

“Planning a South Asian wedding (and all of its pre-wedding events) is no simple task. Finding venues, selecting the perfect outfits, and managing a 500+ guest list, all the while staying within your budget – is a full-time job in itself,” states Kapil on the Bride + Groomed website.

The app includes vendor lists, checklists, timelines, budgeting guides, a guest list manager and even an outfit finder, which will let people choose from vendors’ pre-made outfits or custom pieces and professional tailors. The bride and groom also have the choice to contact vendors right within the app, so all conversations are in one convenient place.

Planning a wedding can be a stressful task, which is why Kapil is launching the app soon.

“Don’t panic: you can update your RSVP’s, checklists, and budgets on the go to keep all your planning up to the minute,” states Kapil on the website.

Here is a look at the app:

Kapil left her full-time graphic design job early in 2017. In February 2017, she started Dezeynne Studio, a branding and digital marketing design agency that specializes in fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brands. Her client base includes international companies like Hudson’s Bay and New York-based Thursday Boots.

In late 2017, Kapil completed the Small Business Accelerator, a provincially-funded Starter Company+ program delivered through the Brampton Entrepreneur Centre. She is one of eight Brampton entrepreneurs that fulfilled all the mentoring and workshop components of the program, successfully pitched their business or idea to an expert panel and was selected to receive $5,000 in funding.
