Brampton rapper Tory Lanez faces two felony charges in Los Angeles in connection with the shooting of fellow performer Megan Thee Stallion.

Brampton rapper Tory Lanez faces two felony charges in Los Angeles in connection with the shooting of fellow performer Megan Thee Stallion.

Lanez has been charged with assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

He is accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot during a fight with her in Hollywood on July 12.

U.S. prosecutors said Lanez was arrested the night of the shooting but released on bail.

Lanez, 27, real name Daystar Peterson, is best known for his 2016 hit “Luv” as well as for several successful mixtapes.

Megan Thee Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, is considered a leading hip-hop star that has seen her nominated for an MTV Music Award as well as lending vocals to the Cardi B song “WAP” which has been a huge hit.

Lanez is due to be arraigned Tuesday in Los Angeles. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of roughly 23 years.
