Brampton man facing murder charges after death of his wife

A Brampton man is in custody following the death of a 64-year-old woman.

The victim is Dalbir Randhawa, also from Brampton.

Peel Regional Police responded to a call about an unconscious woman on a trail near Ross Rd. and Temple Hill Rd. at 9 p.m. yesterday. Paramedics attempted to render assistance to the woman, suffering from obvious signs of trauma, but she died at the scene.

Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Person Bureau are asking for the public’s assistance in the investigation regarding the incident.

“This was a tragic loss of life which will carry rippling impacts for family, friends, and our community,” said Nick Milinovich, Peel’s deputy chief. “Our sincere condolences to all those affected by this tragedy and the loss of Dalbir Randhawa.”

The victim’s husband, Jarnail Randhawa, 64, has been arrested. He is in custody and will be charged with second degree murder.

He was scheduled for a bail hearing today at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
