Brampton man faces two counts of assualt after Peterborough cop spit and kicked at

A person from Brampton has been charged after police in Peterborough say a man spit on and kicked a special constable (a special constable is a part-time member of a police department).
The incident took place February 20 when officers were called to a disturbance at a gas station on Highway 7 in Peterborough.
When officers arrived they found a man who wouldn’t provide information on how he got there or where he intended to go.
Police say they tried to find the man accommodation for the night, but when they were unable to do so he became agitated and sat down on the road and made remarks about wanting to commit a crime so that he could get arrested.
As result, he was arrested, and during that procedure the constable was kicked and spat upon.
Seran Kasilingam, 39, of Brampton now faces two counts of assaulting a police officer.

He was held in custody overnight and released on conditions the following day and is scheduled to appear in court on March 10.
