Brampton Man Charged in Human Trafficking Case

A Brampton resident is among four men facing 31 total charges in connection with a human trafficking investigation involving two girls.

The girls, ages 15 and 16, were allegedly forced to work in the sex trade over four days.

The first victim was contacted via social media by a man and they communicated through various apps.

He coerced her to work in the sex trade, Toronto police allege.

Investigators also say the man traveled with her to a city outside Toronto where another girl was recruited.

They were brought back to Toronto and one of the girls was then sexually assaulted, police allege, and the girls were forced into the sex trade and forced to turn over their money to the man.

Police were alerted by one of the girls’ families and four suspects were arrested.

Jahdine Desir, 19, of Toronto, is charged with: procuring/recruit person under 18 years; procuring exercising control over a person under 18 years; material benefit from sexual services provided by a person under 18 years; advertising another person’s sexual services; imports, distributes, sells child pornography; possession of child pornography; access any child pornography; procuring/exercise control.


Dane Cato-Simpson, 22, of Toronto, is charged with: procuring/recruit person under 18 years; procuring exercising control over a person under 18 years; material benefit from sexual services provided by a person under 18 years; advertising another person’s sexual services; imports, distributes, sells child pornography; possession of child pornography; access any child pornography; procuring/exercise control.


Tahje Tucker, 18, of Toronto, is charged with: procuring exercising control over a person under 18 years; material benefit from sexual services provided by a person under 18 years; advertising another person’s sexual services; imports, distributes, sells child pornography; possession of child pornography; access any child pornography; sexual assault; breach of recognizance; two counts of trafficking in persons under the age of 18 years; procuring exercising control over a person under 18 years; financial/material benefit from trafficking in persons under 18 years.


Sukhminder Lota, 45, of Brampton, is charged with two counts of trafficking of a person under the age of 18 years by exercising control, and financial/material benefit from trafficking in persons under 18 years.

Police are encouraging anyone affected to come forward and report human trafficking to police.
