Brampton Man Charged After Road Rage Stabbing Incident

A Brampton man has been charged in connection with a road rage incident in Vaughan that resulted in another man being stabbed.

York Regional Police report that on Sunday, August 6 around 11:00 p.m., officers were called to a coffee shop in the Highway 27 and Zenway Boulevard area to respond to a report that a man had been stabbed.
When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the victim was driving on Zenway Boulevard and was being followed closely by another vehicle. When both vehicles stopped for a red light on Zenway at Highway 427, both drivers exited their vehicles and confronted one another.

During the altercation the victim, a 29-year-old Brampton man, was stabbed. Police say the suspect drove away and the victim drove himself to the coffee shop to call for help.
On Wednesday, Aug, 9, the accused was placed under arrest without incident. Police say 53-year-old Vito Maltese has been charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, Sept. 14.
