Brampton Man Charged After Police Seize Loaded Handguns

Charges have been laid after police executed a search warrant in Toronto this week.

According to Toronto police, the Toronto Police Service Gun & Gang Task Force executed a search warrant in the area of Front Street West and Spadina Avenue on Tuesday July 17, 2018.

Police reportedly seized two loaded handguns, a .45 calibre and a 9 mm.

Six suspects have been charged, including a 25-year-old from Mississauga and a 22-year-old from Brampton.

Jabril Abdirahman, 25, of Mississauga, has been charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, two counts of possession of a firearm obtained by the commission of an offence, two counts of careless storage of firearm, and two counts of careless storage of ammunition.

Abdullahi Abdikarim, 22, of Brampton, has been charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, two counts of possession of a firearm obtained by the commission of an offence, two counts of careless storage of firearm, and two counts of careless storage of ammunition.

Ibrahim Abdikarim, 24, of Toronto, has been charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, two counts of possession of a firearm obtained by the commission of an offence, two counts of careless storage of firearm, and two counts of careless storage of ammunition.

Hussein Nur, 31, of no fixed address, has been charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, two counts of possession of a firearm obtained by the commission of an offence, two counts of careless storage of firearm, two counts of careless storage of ammunition, three counts of fail to comply with prohibition order, and fail to comply with recognizance.

Maya Ahmed, 26, of Toronto, has been charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, two counts of possession of a firearm obtained by the commission of an offence, two counts of careless storage of firearm, two counts of careless storage of ammunition, and three counts of fail to comply with prohibition order.

Liban Guled, 28, of Richmond Hill, has been charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition, two counts of unauthorized possession of firearm, two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, two counts of possession of a firearm obtained by the commission of an offence, two counts of careless storage of firearm, and two counts of careless storage of ammunition.

They appeared in court on July 18.
