Brampton Man Accused of Stealing from Car Dealership Arrested in Milton

A Brampton man is facing a slew of charges in connection with three incidents involving a stolen vehicle, impaired driving, and an attempted carjacking in Oakville.

A suspected impaired driver on Campbellville Rd. in Milton had Halton police responding to a call on Aug. 3 just before midnight.

That’s where officers found the man in a brand new 2017 Lincoln MKC.

Investigators maintain the driver stole several sets of keys from a Brampton Ford dealership earlier that day, along with the Lincoln.

Keys to several other new vehicles were found in the Lincoln – bearing stolen licence plates – and the stolen property was returned, say police.

The suspect is believed to be linked to an attempted carjacking in Oakville on July 14 near Water St. and Robinson St. at 7:20 p.m.

Police allege the man approached a citizen sitting in his vehicle, opened the driver’s door and attempted to take the car, while threatening to physically harm the driver.

No weapon was seen.

The driver refused to give up the vehicle and the suspect fled the scene without hurting him.

The suspect was seen meeting up with a female. They were last spotted walking eastbound.

“She was not charged,” said Det.-Const. Ian Lynn.

David Millar, 39, is charged with: two counts of disqualified driving; impaired care and control; refuse to provide sample; theft of motor vehicle; theft under $5,000; possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000; robbery; and utter threats.

Anyone with information is asked to phone the 1 District criminal investigations bureau at 905-825-4747 ext. 2416 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
