Brampton Man Accused of Snowmobiling While Impaired

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are laying charges in an incident where a man was reportedly driving a snowmobile impaired.

According to the OPP, on February 9, 2018, the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment responded to a noise complaint on Elizabeth Street in Midland at 1:15 a.m.
Officers say they located a man with his snowmobile and “entered into a drinking and driving investigation after speaking with him.”
The male was subsequently arrested on scene and transported to detachment for further investigation.

Daniel Taylor, 57, of Brampton has been charged with having care or control of a motor vehicle while over 80 mgs.
Police say his snowmobile was towed and impounded for seven days. His driver’s licence has also been suspended for 90 days.
Taylor is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.
“OPP officers are on snowmobile patrol will be checking sleds on the trails and at R.I.D.E. check stops looking for drinking drivers and also for proof of a valid driver’s license, valid vehicle registration and insurance when required.”
