The artistic dreams of a young Brampton girl looking to make the world a better place has earned her a chance at a top international prize.
Shaivee Bhatt, 11, is a finalist in the Toyota Dream Car Art contest and her creation Bee Mobile will now be judged along with eight other Canadian contenders in the world finals. The grand prize is $15,000 U.S. She has already won a $250 online retail gift card to KiwiCo.
In her work, Shaivee recognizes the vital role bees play in our ecosystem and creates a dream car to keep them safe from harmful pesticides so that they can continue to pollinate flowers, grow honey and, as she says, “live a sweet long life.”
Her art was chosen as a finalist by a panel of judges representing journalists, artists and automotive experts. Hundreds of young Canadians entered the contest and shared their inspirational and innovative designs that provide a glimpse into a brighter future.
First held in 2004 and now one of the world’s largest global art contests for children, the Toyota Dream Car Art contest invites future artists, designers and engineers to share their ideas about the future of mobility.
