The City of Brampton and Downtown Brampton BIA are hosting their seventh annual Bike to Work Day event. It marks the start of Bike Month (May 27 to June 28) and hopes to show attendees that cycling can be a healthy, fun and practical option for commuting to work.

Attendees will learn more about riding bikes in Brampton and road safety rules. There will also be free coffee, breakfast and prizes available, as well as complimentary bike safety checks.

Some vendors and exhibitors that will be at the event include the Region of Peel, the Downtown Brampton BIA, Peel Regional Police, Brampton Transit, and the Brampton cycling community, as well as several downtown businesses.

“An active community is a healthy community,” said Mayor Patrick Brown. “Encouraging cycling is a key initiative to achieving 2040 Vision for a healthy, safe and green city. We are investing heavily into active transportation infrastructure to meet the goal of an integrated, attractive and accessible system of cycling facilities and trails. I encourage our residents to get out their bikes and explore our beautiful city.”

The event starts at four different locations in the city and will end in Garden Square.

The event will take place on May 27 from 7:30 to 9:00 am.

Anyone interested in participating can register here.
