Brampton Father Killed in Trinidad and Tobago

Multiple reports have confirmed that 56-year-old Vishnu Narine of Brampton was found murdered on the morning of Friday, December 1, 2017, shortly before 8 a.m. according to media outlet the Trinidad Express.
Narine was found with a gunshot wound to his head on the gravel beside the Usine, Ste. Madeleine Pond, say local media outlets in Trinidad and Tobago. Local police believe a violent robbery took place.
Police in Trinidad believe Narine was robbed of the $10,000 he had when he left his family home in San Fernando on Thursday night, say local media in Trinidad. Some reports say that he was carrying $1,900 CAD.

According to local outlet the Trinidad and Tobago Guardian, Narine was on vacation. It was the last night of his trip.
Shelburne’s Fire Chief Brad Lemaich has confirmed that Narine was the father of one of the firefighters in Shelburne, Randy Narine.
“Our whole department is deeply saddened,” said Lemaich via Twitter.
“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the Canadian citizen who passed away in Trinidad and Tobago,” a representative from Global Affairs Canada told inbrampton.com. “Canadian officials are in close contact with local authorities to gather additional information and are providing consular assistance to the family as required. To protect the privacy of the individual concerned, further details on this case cannot be released.”
Trinidad and Tobago police are investigating.
Narine’s funeral will be held on Wednesday December 6, 2017, in Trinidad.
