Workers will be out sooner on Brampton roads this winter when it starts to snow.

A new program will see crews dispatched once levels reach 5 cm of accumulation. Previously they were sent out when it reached 7.5 cm of snow.

Each year Brampton works to increase its service when it snows and so far it seems to be working.

Last winter the City received 1,500 complaints about snow removal, down significantly from previous year when 3.500 complaints were registered.

Still, some of the responsibility remains with homeowners who have to do their part to keep snow problems to a minimum.

• Clear sidewalks of ice, snow, and slush promptly after snowfall;
• Parking on streets is not allowed and will be enforced during winter weather events. Please move vehicles to ensure plows and emergency vehicles can safely pass by;
• If it has been more than 24 hours since the snowfall has ended and your street still requires attention, let the City know by calling 311, emailing [email protected], visiting www.311brampton.ca; or using the 311 app;
• Snow removal financial assistance is available to eligible seniors and homeowners with physical disabilities. Learn more: ow.ly/D2R050xgPq2.
