Brampton’s restaurants might not have cracked this top 100 list just yet, but the city’s diverse and delicious cookery school is generating a lot of buzz—and even winning awards.

Now, we’re happy to report that another relatively new addition to the city’s thriving food scene has received an exciting distinction from the brand new Food Awards Ontario 2019.

The inaugural Food Awards Ontario 2019, which celebrates the restaurants and schools that provide local diners with delicious food and unique flavours, has declared Liaison College as the Cookery School of the Year (Overall).

Located at 350 Rutherford Road South, Liaison College is Ontario’s largest trainer of chefs and cooks. They have many different programs including Cook Basic, Cook Advanced, Hospitality Administration, Personal Chef Diploma, Chef De Cuisine, Culinary Management, Specialist Chef, Culinary and Hospitality Operations Management.

According to the Food Awards Ontario official website, the awards recognize the achievements of local suppliers who serve the freshest of products and specialists who work hard within their establishments to deliver great dining experiences.

“The winners are a true reflection of the professionalism, dedication and skill that form the Ontario’s food industry,” the website says.

“The awards also acknowledged meritorious specialists for working tirelessly within establishments where excellence is standard and for being at the forefront of the industry due to their commitment to being the best.”

The organization honoured dozens of restaurants across Ontario.

“These awards aimed to thank those that contribute to making Ontario a top destination to taste great food. It is true that Ontario combines flavours from all over the world and both visitors and residents can choose from a wide range of restaurants, gastro pubs and bistros,” a spokesperson for the Food Awards Ontario 2019 said in a statement.

Several of the awards were split into local regions to ensure the diverse range of businesses from across the province were recognized for their exceptional work.

Other winning restaurants included Bombay Grill Restaurant in Milton (Best Indian Establishment), Sakis Mediterranean & Greek Restaurant in Burlington (Best Mediterranean Establishment), Canoe in Toronto (Best Traditional Canadian Restaurant) and more.

“The awards celebrated everything related to food and provided a platform to showcase those who have dedicated their whole career in serving us great gastronomic delights as well as those who help us explore different cuisines, from Mexican to Oriental and much more. We would like to congratulate the winners and finalists for their amazing achievements.”

The list also awarded caterers, cafes, takeout joints and hotel restaurants.
