Arrests made for convenience store robberies in Brampton

Officers from the Robbery Unit have arrested three individuals in relation to a series of convenience store robberies that occurred in Peel and Halton Region.
Officers from the Robbery Unit have arrested three individuals in relation to a series of convenience store robberies that occurred in Peel and Halton Region.
Between May 14, 2020, and June 4, 2020, five convenience store robberies occurred in Brampton, Mississauga and Milton, according to police.
Police say that on May 14, 2020, a variety store located in the area of Kennedy Road and Queen Street in Brampton was robbed at knifepoint and on June 1, 2020, the convenience store located in the area of Balmoral Drive and Eastbourne Drive in Brampton was robbed at gunpoint.
On June 2, 2020, the convenience store located in the area of Bronte Street South and Anne Boulevard, in Milton was robbed at gunpoint, according to police.

Police also say that on June 3, 2020, the variety store located in the area of Hurontario Street and Hillcrest in Mississauga was robbed at gunpoint and on June 4, 2020, the convenience store located in the area of Burnhamthorpe Road East and Central Parkway in Mississauga was robbed at gunpoint.
According to police, there were no injuries to any of the victims.
Various quantities of cash were taken from each store and tobacco and food products were stolen from some of the stores, police say.
On June 4, 2020, an 18-year-old man from Brampton was charged with five counts of Robbery, five counts of Disguise with Intent and four counts of Imitation Firearm, according to police. He was held for a bail hearing and he appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice.
On June 4, 2020, a 15-year-old male youth from Brampton was charged with four counts of Robbery, four counts of Disguise with Intent and four counts of Use Imitation Firearm, according to police. He was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice.
On June 16, 2020, a 15-year-old male youth from Mississauga was charged with five counts of Robbery, five counts of Disguise with Intent, four counts of Use Imitation Firearm and fifteen counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order, according to police. He was held for a bail hearing and will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice.
A general provision of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (Y.C.J.A.) prohibits the release of the name of a Young Person and, therefore, the identities of the Young Persons charged in this investigation are protected.
