Amidst your busy summer, book off an evening or a few days to learn some new business skills and hopefully have fun while you’re at it. Here are the top five business events happening this summer in Brampton.

If you’re serious about starting a business, RIC Centre’s Bootcamp sessions are for you. This intensive program connects entrepreneurs that are just starting out with professional service providers. The program teaches these entrepreneurs the foundational legal, financial, and funding basics for a strong start to a business. The event is free and bi-monthly, directed towards people starting tech-based businesses. Partnerships with top-tier organizations – Bereskin & Parr LLP, Pallett Valo LLP, and BDO LLP, to name a few – will provide one-on-one advice opportunities for entrepreneurs. The bootcamp runs from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on July 12.
This free seminar is led by CEO and Creative Director of Digital-Minded Inc. Shaun Ghulam. It’s an interactive seminar on attracting more clientele to your business through your website and social media that will include a 30 minute presentation and a group breakout session. From 9:30-11 a.m., Brampton is invited to be ready for a fun morning with like-minded individuals!
The Brampton Mastermind Networking group presents networking sessions that are designed to inspire, motivate and educate entrepreneurs in Brampton and parts of the GTA to successfully overcome business challenges. Specifically, two sessions are coming up – one on Tuesday, June 20, and one on Tuesday, July 18. A relaxed evening session, the event runs from 6-8 p.m. and boasts refreshments, expert speakers, a discussion of business challenges, and general networking.
The Brampton Entrepreneur Centre is hosting this useful session to educate and empower anyone with the skills to use SEO and Adwords. That includes information on why these options are beneficial to a business, keyword research, keywords across web pages and social media, Google Analytics, setting up and evaluating an Adwords campaign, and how to turn traffic into leads. The skills-based session takes place on Wednesday, July 26 from 12-1:30 p.m.
This free, logistics-based seminar is ideal for an entrepreneur who has a business idea but isn’t sure where to go from there. It’s like entrepreneurship 101, covering basic requirements such as name registration, business structures, licensing requirements, insurance, HST registration, labour requirements and sources of financing and how to craft a clear and concise business plan. You might leave with a clear head on how to proceed with your business after this one hour session from 10-11 a.m.
